Sander Rouwette

Hello, my name is Sander Rouwette. I am doing my graduation project for my master in Applied Physics in the Fusion group. I always enjoyed extreme experiments. Naturally, fusion falls in this category.

My project consists of a numerical model for the Fusor, an Inertial Electrostatic Confinement device, the Fusion group’s fusion device. Producing fusion reactions in a room as big as an office! The Fusor isn’t viable for net energy production. However it can be used as a neutron source.  I am using a particle in cell method to simulate the behavior of the plasma inside the fusor to understand what is going on and to optimize the device.
