Mick Wijnen

My name is Mick Wijnen and I'm a 3rd year bachelors student Applied Physics. Currenty I'm doing by BSc internship at the Fusion group. I'm working on improving the grid of a Hirsch-Farnsworth Fusor.

The Fusor is a tabletop fusion device considered to be a viable future neutron source. There is a lot of collaboration between the students working on the Fusor, often leading to new creative ideas. Apart from developing scientific skills, working on the Fusor also provides a lot of hands-on engineering challenges. There is a lot of freedom to implement your own ideas, it definitely doesn't feel like 'studying'.
