Guus Bertens

My name is Guus and I'm a physics master student. The Fusion group offered me a traineeship near Munich, Germany. The goal of my traineeship is to implement a neural network that analyses charge exchange spectra that come from a tokamak experiment.

What interests me about tokamak experiments is that they aren't just plasma physics.  They're also optics, (magneto)hydrodynamics, ...  And they're not just physics, but also mechanical engineering, computer science, and more.  This is reflected in my traineeship: I combine physics with computer science.

And why Munich?  Because now I'm sitting next to an actual tokamak :)
