Christel Sanders

Hello, I’m Christel Sanders

I am studying physics at the Technical University of Eindhoven and I'm working on my master thesis in the Fusion group. I finished my applied physics bachelor’s degree at fontys hogescholen (a university of professional education). I like working at the fusion group because it offers challenging physics resulting in practical applications and I like to work at something meaningful, and to help to solve the world energy problem.

My masters research is at real-time edge detection of plasma’s by using the emitted visible light. We do this so we can monitor snowflake plasma’s. This plasma concept has the possibility to reduce the heat flux to the divertor, what leads to heat loads that can be tolerated by existing wall materials.
