Teun Minkels

Hi there, my name is Teun Minkels and as a part of my bachelor applied physics, I am doing an internship at the Fusion group. Ever since hearing about it in high school, I have been interested in nuclear fusion. In fact the whole fusion principle is one of the reasons I wanted to study physics in the first place. At the moment I am looking into a setup in the plasmalab, here at TU/e. I am trying to optimize the interferometer to measure a plasma’s electron density. Interferometers, such as the one I am looking into, can be used as a non perturbing method to measure electron densities in a tokamak.
For me, this project is a nice way to alternate theory with hands-on experience. Moreover I like the fact that I’m really helping to improve the setup as well as our understanding of it’s properties.
