Hello, my name is Farzad Aghili, and I'm doing my internship at the Fusion Group.

After taking a long break from my study (Applied physics), I was pleased to see that this research group had grown so much compared to when I started. Being interested in the field of sustainable energy, I couldn't pass on a chance to take an inside look at the challenges faced by one of the most promising fields of satisfying the growing need for a clean and sustainable energy source. Challenges of which, there are many.

The subject of my internship is to look into the feasibility of a diagnostic method for tokamaks involving the use of Motional Stark Effect to determine the local magnetic field in the plasma. Having this information will help support a stable plasma in the fusion reactor.
