Paul Geelen

Hello I am Paul Geelen,

I’m a master’s  student in both the Fusion and Control Systems Technology (Mechanical Engineering) group.
I chose to study Fusion because of the interdisciplinary and challenging character of the field. The Fusion group offers ample exciting opportunities to its students: this is reflected in my current internship project at MIT.

My research at MIT is about the Motional Stark Effect diagnostic . This diagnostic  measures the internal topology of the magnetic field in a tokamak plasma. This is of importance because the magnetic geometry determines the stability and confinement of the plasma.
