Een procesontwerp voor optimale ondersteuning van hybride zorg

De casus van regiecentrum OLVG

In a time when the healthcare sector is facing increasing challenges such as an aging population, growing demand, and limited resources, there is an urgent need for innovative solutions to ensure a sustainable and accessible healthcare system.

The diversity of eHealth, including subcategories like hybrid care and remote care, is seen as a potential answer to the current healthcare challenges, utilizing technology to optimize both the care experience and outcomes.

The implementation of eHealth, supported by a control center focused on the transition to hybrid care and the facilitation of future initiatives, can shape the future of healthcare. It offers new perspectives to tackle the challenges and the potential to keep care accessible, efficient, and patient-centered.

This report outlines the step-by-step process of creation and shaping, along with the decisions made for subsequent partial deliveries, using the Control Center within OLVG as a concrete case study.

1. The design of a validated checklist to assess the suitability of the supporting tool, with the aim of achieving effective assistance;

2. The design and implementation of a new generic process design for the control center.

All of this took place following the Design Thinking Methodology (see Chapter 4.5).

The current decentralized control centers, established in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, are precursors to a more integrated and scalable control center focused on the transition to hybrid care, medical monitoring and facilitating future initiatives.

In summary, the report highlights the development of a checklist that is yet to be implemented, while the generic process design has already been put into practice. With a focus on scalability and consistency, it is recommended to work under architecture, utilizing the already acquired "BlueDolphin" program as support. This approach not only facilitates the application of generic processes and roles but also provides a solid foundation for further optimization.

Reflecting, it has been a complex and sometimes challenging process, in which unspoken expectations, various other projects, and political dynamics have proven to be a challenge.
