The Dutch universities (VSNU) and the American Chemical Society (ACS) have reached a new agreement for five years (2017–2021) in which the current licensing agreement is continued and open access is introduced for new articles submitted by corresponding authors affiliated with a Dutch university or participating research institution.

Publishing your articles open access with ACS will apply to all new articles submitted from January 2017. Individual researchers will not have to pay any additional costs, since the cost for the APCs will be covered entirely by the big deal.
